Napier, Seriously: The Exit Interviews

A 2D Animation project discussing life at university, animated in real time using motion captured performances.

With this project, we set out with the aims of developing a workflow which would enable sole creators to create 2D animations of a professional quality in a manageable amount of time. With the project involving a lot of character dialogue and characters appearing on screen for almost the entire duration, involving Adobe Character Animator in the workflow was a crucial element of the workflow being a success.
The project itself involved several to-camera interviews of final year Edinburgh Napier University students discussing their time at the university, later animated in real-time by the performers themselves using motion capture technology. This allowed a more personal performance and gave real character to each on-screen avatar.
